First of all, I wish you all very happy human rights. Today is the 10th of December and we all are gathered here to celebrate Human Rights Day. I would like to thank everyone for giving me this opportunity to tell something on this special day.
Every year, Human Rights Day is observed on 10th December. The date was chosen to honor the adoption and proclamation of the universal declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations General Assembly on 10th December 1948. The commemoration was established in 1950.
Human Rights are the rights inherent to all human beings regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. They are moral principles or norms for certain standards of human behavior and are regularly protected by law.
Human Rights Day is celebrated to raise awareness about people's social, cultural, and physical rights. It also aims to ensure the welfare of everyone. The United Nations on this day encourages nations to create equal opportunities for everyone. It addresses the issues of inequality, exclusion, and discrimination.
Every year the theme of Human Rights Day changes. The theme of Human Rights Day 2022 is "the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights".
