World Population Day is an initiative by the UN and it was first observed in the year 1989. This day is observed to spread awareness about the exploding population growth of the world. The prime objective of this day is to spread awareness to control the increasing population of the World.
As Indian, we must be worried when we talked about India's population. India recently beat China to become the most populated country in the World with 142.86 crore population. With this huge population, India faces a lot of challenges like depletion of resources, unemployment, negative impact on the Environment, high cost of living, Malnourishment, low life expectancy, etc.
On the other hand, if we manage to utilize this huge population in India's growth then it can positively impact India. We can create a huge skilled workforce with proper plan implementation. This skilled workforce will play a very vital role in India's economic growth.
According to 2021 data, the global population reached 8 billion, and this year it is projected to grow even faster. Consequently, the world is grappling with numerous challenges stemming from this substantial population growth. Key issues include food scarcity, pollution, rising crime rates, overcrowding, and the depletion of natural resources.
This year we are observing World Population Day under the theme of "One Earth, One Family, One Future".
The main objective of World Population Day is to raise awareness about reproductive issues, including but not limited to promoting sex education and empowering the younger generation with crucial knowledge. This observance strives to inform individuals about various aspects related to reproduction and encourage a greater understanding among people.
On this occasion, let us unite and pledge to raise awareness about the negative impacts of population growth while taking essential steps to ensure its control. Together, we can create a better future.
